(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is an original antique The Scofield-Pierson Co. postcard from 1908. It shows a portrait of the poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and a bouquet of Carnation Flowers. Signed by artist Cobb Shinn.

"And the night shall be filled with music,
And the cares, that infest the day,
Shall fold their tents, like the Arabs, 
And silently steal away."

"Mrs. Alfred Irby will entertain in honor of Mrs. Ernest Mobley Friday afternoon April the thirtieth held past three o'clock Program. R.S.V.P.", reads the note typed on the back. 

The postcard is used and is in GOOD condition, wear at the edges, blunted corner tips, paper loss near the edges.
