(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is a SET of THREE original vintage Plastichrome Colorpicture postcards published by Southern Post Card Co. in the 1960s. Each shows a souvenir view from The Lost Sea a cave and underground lake near Sweetwater, Tennessee.

"THE LOST SEA - World's largest underground lake located deep inside a Tennessee mountain near Sweetwater (US 11) and Madisonville (US 411). Glass bottom boats take the visitor into a pre-historic era dating back 300 million years or more. Huge rooms in the caverns house the tracks of Pleistocene jaguars, cave flowers, and many unusual formations."

"CASCADES - Located deep inside a Tennessee mountain near Sweetwater (U.S. 11) and Madisonville (U.S. 411). This is a formation of pure calcite, which appears to take the form of a waterfall. Photo by R. E. Calonge."

"JAGUARS - Located deep inside a Tennessee mountain near Sweetwater (U.S. 11) and Madisonville (U.S. 411). Bones and tracks of a large Pleistocene Jaguar were discovered in Craighead Caverns. The skeleton was unearthed and carefully removed to the American Museum of Natural History. However, the well-preserved tracks were permanently encased in plaster of paris, and an authentic replica of the cat remains at the mouth of the crevice into which he had fallen in the Prehistoric Room." Color Photo by R. E. Calongne."

"July, 1969", is written on the backs of all the postcards. They are used and in VERY GOOD condition, light wear at the edges, blunted corner tips.
