(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is an original antique Stengel & Co. postcard from the 1900s. It shows a reproduction of Rembrandt's painting, "The Anatomy".
"The anatomy. Rembrandt Harmensz Van Ryn, born July 15, 1606 in Leyden, buried October 8, 1669 in Amsterdam. Student of Jacob von Swanenburgh at Leyden then of Pieter Lastmann at Amsterdam. Active in Leyden, from 1631 on in Amsterdam. Rembrandt is Holland's most ingenious and powerful artist. Its glow of color and chiaroscuro is still unsurpassed today. Excellent eraser.", reads the translated German inscription printed on the back.
The postcard is unused and is in VERY GOOD condition, wear at the edges, blunted corner tips.
