(2 1/2 x 4 In) This is an original antique S. J. Ferris, Phil. Pho. Co., 630 Chestnut Street carte de visite art from 1865. "Washington & Lincoln. (Apotheosis.)" by J. A. Arthur. It shows a painting of Abraham Lincoln hugging a heavenly George Washington as he bestows a laurel wreath upon Lincoln's Head.
"Entered, according to Act of Congress in the year 1865, by J. A. Arthur, in the Clerk's Office of the District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. / WASHINGTON & LINCOLN. (APOTHEOSIS.) / S.J. Ferris, Pinxt. Photo. and Pub. by Phd. Pho. co., 730 Chestnut St."
The card is in VERY GOOD condition, wear at the edges, blunted corner tips, general light stains, two small pin holes.
