(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is an original vintage Lollesgard Specialty Co., C. T. Art-Colortone linen postcard from the 1940s. It shows a view of a Native American man standing by a huge petrified log in Petrified Forest, Arizona.

"NEZ BY THE BIG LOG, PETRIFIED FOREST - (Compare the size of the log with the Indian who is over 6ft 2" tall) - Ages ago a large forest stood in what is now a vast desert in northern Arizona. As the centuries passed these trees grew, reached their full height, died, and slowly turned to stone. The ground is strewn with their bodies in pieces ranging from small pebbles to mighty trunks a hundred feet and more in length. A cross section from one of these trunks reveals every color in the rainbow. Small pieces of this petrified wood when polished shine like rare jewels. Copyright by J. R. Willis.", reads the description printed on the back.

The postcard is used and is in VERY GOOD condition, light wear at the edges, name written on stamp box.
