(5 1/2 x 3 In) This is an original antique The Strobridge Lithographing Co. trade card from the 1800s. It shows a view of an exploding steamship, "The World - The Infernal Machine Tableau II."
"THE EXPLOSION - Representing the... of a great ocean steamer... which, with its... its smoke-stack, esc... steam, masts, rigging... the reality is remarkably complete, and the... of the explosion, flames panic of passengers and general breaking of the ship is thoroughly thrilling.", reads part of the description printed on the back.
The card is in GOOD condition, wear at the edges, blunted corner tips, a few minor stains, a few creases.
