"EVENING SHADOWS ON THE GREAT WHITE SANDS, A NATIONAL MONUMENT, NEAT ALAMOGORDO, N.M. - The glorious coloring of the sunset intensifies the immensity and mystery of this phenomenon of nature, 176,000 acres of snow white gypsum are contained in this region known as "The Great White Sands." The winds sweep the sands into dunes often 60 feet high, and they are moving towards Alamogordo at the rate of 8 inches per year.", reads the description printed on the back.
