(3 1/2 x 5 1/2 In) This is an original antique Asheville Post Card Co. linen postcard from the 1940s. It shows a view of the Fort Chiswell Monument in Southwestern Virginia.
"Fort Chiswell, nine miles east of Wytheville, was occupied by the British troops in Braddock's War. Tradition tells us that here Daniel Morgan was tried and whipped for beating a British officer. This spot was also once the county seat of Montgomery County.", reads the description printed on the back.
The postcard is unused and is in EXCELLENT condition.
