At The Foot of Pike's Peak - Manitou Springs, Colorado - Spa of the Rockies - Postcard, c. 1940s
(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is an original vintage Sanborn Souvenir Co. linen postcard from the 1940s. It shows an aerial view of Manitou Springs, Colorado, "Spa of the Rockies" at the Foot of Pikes Peak.
"Manitou lies in a pocket among the hills a few miles west of Colorado Springs. The slopes on all sides are dotted with cottages and scenic trips radiate from it in all directions through the Narrow Canyons. Several noted mineral springs are situated there, valuable for their curative properties. In summertime Manitou is crowded with visitors occupying every nook and corner of the town, the tourist is king and Manitou might well be called Colorado's most highly developed summer resort."
The postcard is unused and is in VERY GOOD condition, wear at the edges, blunted corner tips.
