(3 1/2 x 5 1/2 In) This is an original vintage C. T. Art-Colortone linen postcard from the 1950s. It shows a view of "OLD MAN OF THE MOUNTAIN - MEN hang out their signs indicative of their respective trades. Shoemakers hang a gigantic shoe; jewelers a monster watch, even the dentist hangs out a gold tooth; but up in Franconia Mountains God Almighty has hung out a Sign to Show that in New England he Makes Men. - Daniel Webster."
"THE OLD MAN OF THE MOUNTAIN, FRANCONIA NOTCH, N.H. The most perfect natural stone face in the world, called also "The Profile," the "Great Stone Face" of Hawthorne's story. Forty feet high. On the south end of Cannon Mountain, 1,200 feet above the ever beautiful Profile Lake.", reads the description printed on the back.
The postcard is unused and is in VERY GOOD condition, light wear at the edges.
