(3 1/2 x 5 1/2 In) This is an original antique MUIR & Co., Colby Animal Series No. 2 postcard from the 1910s. It shows a tabby cat with fleas wearing a barrel to hide his nakedness. Signed by artist V. Colby.
"My hair is shaved, my coat is gone,
For Sanitary reasons I am told,
What can a poor thing do alone,
Now don't you laugh, for I am cold."
"Wed- 9:45 AM- Dear Happy:- Got your card this AM- thank you very much. Enjoyed your letter yesterday.Just finished ironing. Am going to wash good Fluff if _____ _____ ____. Had a Dutch lunch at Reyers last time. Went downtown yesterday PM- am going down this PM to get hat. A fine day, wish you were here to go along. Hope you and dad are well. We are. So Long. Do You See The Bung-hole?", reads the note written on the back.
The postcard is used and is in GOOD condition, wear at the edges, blunted corner tips, postmark ink transfer on the front, a few minor stains.
