(3 1/2 x 5 1/2 In) This is an original antique Southern Bargain House postcard from the 1900s. It shows a view of the Soldiers' Monument in Hollywood Cemetery at Richmond, Virginia.
"Soldiers' Monument, (Hollywood Cemetery), Richmond, Va.- A memorial granite structure, pyramidal in form, 45 feet square at base and 90 feet high. It was dedicated May 31st, 1869. This ivy-clad pile marks the last resting place of the 12,000 Confederate soldiers buries around it, and was erected in commemoration of the heroic virtue, and unfaltering devotion to the "Lost Cause".
The postcard is unused and is in VERY GOOD condition, heavy wear at the edges, blunted corners, a few light creases.
