(6 x 4 In) This is an original antique Woolson Spice Co. trade card from 1894. It shows two Victorian children asleep on a pile of leaves in the forest, "THE BABES IN THE WOODS - See Story On Other Side".

"Babes in the Wood. - Two poor little Babes are driven from home by a cruel stepmother. They wander through the woods eating berries and nuts, until over-powered by fatigue they fall asleep, and the birds taking compassion on them, cover them with leaves."

The card is in GOOD condition, wear at the edges, blunted corner tips, a few small creases, chips missing from right edge.
