U the Unicorn Is - V is the Vulture - Bright Eyes' Primer - Victorian Book Illustration - Print, c 1886
(7 x 9 1/2 In) This is an original antique book page rescued from a damaged copy of "Bright Eyes Primer, Beasts, Birds and Fishes" from 1886. It shows an anthropomorphic Unicorn on one side and a Vulture on the other.
"U the UNICORN is, with his candlesticks two, Walking backwards to usher the Queen, passing through."
"V is the VULTURE, fierce, wicked, and old, He'll do anything vile, that will bring him gold."
The print is in VERY GOOD condition, general stains, small holes at one edge from book binding staples.
