(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is an original antique American-Journal-Examiner undivided-back postcard from 1906. It shows a Chippewa man painting the history of a battle onto a stretched buckskin hide. The lithograph is based on a painting by Eanger Irving Couse titled "The Historian" or "Indian Painter" and was given out "Compliments of the Chicago Sunday American".

The postcard is unused and is in VERY GOOD condition, wear at the edges, blunted corner tips, crease at upper right corner, a few small stains, album marks at corners.
