Only A Breath - Post-Mortem - RPPC, c. 1900s

(5 7/8 x 3 1/2 In) This is an original antique Solio real photo postcard from the 1900s. It shows a post-mortem portrait of an infant peacefully laid to rest on a pillow on the family couch. Pillows stitched with symbolic spiraling ferns and a bouquet of Violets with the sentiment, "Only a Breath". Poignantly sweet and sad at the same time. 

The photo is in VERY GOOD condition, minor wear at the edges, blunted corner tips, light contrast, a few minor stains.
