(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is a SET of TWO original antique Theochrom, series 1119 postcards from the 1900s. They show an "Automobile Race" and "Wreck of the Automobile". 

"Hello Blanche. This is a view of the Jackson car (average is 24 hr) in the 24 hour race 998 miles and no one was hurt. will have a much faster -without stopping race next Saturday - wish you could see it - the Soco Mobile or the Pope Toledo - a race for live men - when I hear from you I will send the next card.", reads the note written on the first postcard. 

"Oct. 10-10-08. Another View of the 24 hr. race. Hope there will be a dance at ____ around Thanksgiving, expect to be home for a couple of days. Have some other views of cars if you like them say so. make things look lively.", reads the note on the back of the second card.

The postcards are used and are in GOOD condition, heavy wear at the edges, blunted corner tips, general stains, some paper loss, rain marks / ink bleed on the back of one.
