Glory For Me - Postcard, c. 1910
(3 1/2 x 5 1/2 In) This is an original antique Bamforth & Co. postcard from 1910. It shows an exhausted Edwardian woman dreaming of the everlasting rest of death and peace of heaven as she naps by the fireside. The lyrics for the hymn Glory For Me are printed below:
"Dear Sister., Have been too busy to write. I am working now to help straighten out financial affairs. How are you dear. Well and happy these days and trusting in the Lord more than ever I hope so. I'm feeling quite well but miss my baby a great deal. Write when you can and I'll write as soon as the opportunity affords. I'm bookkeeping for a whole sale house. Well I'm tired and still have a lot of work to do. Be good + Brave, Trust Jesus dear for all things. Lovingly, Pearl Berry.", reads the message written on the back.
The postcard is used and is in VERY GOOD condition, wear at the edges, blunted corner tips, a few light scratches, crazing in finish.
