Jupiter Terrace - Yellowstone National Park, WY - Postcard, c 1940s

(3 1/2 x 5 1/2 In) This is an original vintage Haynes Picture Shops Inc., C. T. Art-Colortone linen postcard from the 1940s. It shows a view of Jupiter Terrace in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming.

"Through the aspen trees the brilliantly colored Jupiter terrace makes a beautiful picture. All the terraces at Mammoth are lime deposits built up by the hot water. The coloring on these terraces is due to an algal covering, which is generally speaking rust colored.", reads the description printed on the back. 

The postcard is used and is in VERY GOOD condition, minor wear at the edges, a few minor stains, pencil writing on the back.
