I Took My Pick - Frederick L. Cavally - Postcard, c. 1908
(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is an original antique The Thayer Publishing Co., De Luxe Series postcard from the 1908. It shows a prisoner wearing a ball and chain bending over to grab a pick axe as a prison guard points to the work to be done, a black cat sits nearby watching, "I took my pick!" Signed by artist Frederick L. Cavally.
"Hello Bros.- Can I have my "pick" of those felines. Yes? No? So long, Ward", reads the message written on the back.
The postcard is used and is in FAIR condition, heavy wear at the edges, blunted corner tips, general creases and stains.
