Symbrachydactyly- 1910s Antique Photograph- Edwardian Girl- Born With Four Fingers- Birth Defect- Unsual Hands- Found Photo- Snapshot
(2 3/4 x 4 1/2 In) This is an original antique photograph from the 1910s. It shows a happy looking Edwardian girl in a gingham dress, slouchy socks and a dainty dorothy hair bow posing on the farm near a rustic wooden fence. When I first looked at the photo I thought that the girl had her hands in a unusual pose, but upon closer inspection I realized she was born with only four fingers on each hand. A congenital abnormality called Symbrachydactyly that affects the bones of the hands and/ or feet. It seems she was born without pinky fingers, her middle and ring fingers appearing fused together.
The photo is in in EXCELLENT condition, light wear at the edges, light wear at the edges.
