Court Yard and Prison Rooms in the Cabildo - New Orleans, LA - Postcard, c. 1920s

(3 1/2 x 5 1/2 In) This is an original antique E. C. Kropp Co. postcard from the 1920s. It shows a view of the Court Yard and Prison Rooms at the Cabildo in New Orleans, Louisiana.

"The Court Yard and Prison Rooms in the Cabildo at Chartres and St. Peter's Streets. Note the tiers or cells, and the wide galleries around them. The room with the door standing open on the ground floor is the cell in which the pirate LaFitte was incarcerated after his capture by the Americans. Later on his services were accepted by General Jackson and he participated in the Battle of New Orleans, where he covered himself with glory, or subsequently receiving a pardon from the Congress of the United States.", reads the description printed on the back. 

The postcard is unused and is in VERY GOOD condition, minor wear at the edges.
