(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is a SET of TWO original antique B. S. Reynolds Co. postcards from the 1900s. "Crawford Door, Senate Portico, Capitol" and "Rogers Door, Rotunda Portico, Capitol".

"Bronze Door.-- Senate Portico of Capitol, Washington. Designed by Crawford. The panels commemorate: The Death of Warren at Bunker Hill, 1775; Washington's Rebuke of Gen. Charles Lee at Monmouth, 1778; Hamilton's Gallantry at Yorktown, 1781; Washington's Reception at Trenton, when on the way to his Inauguration as First President, 1789; Washington's First Inauguration, 1789; Laying the Corner Stone of the Capitol, Sept. 18, 1793. The panels below contain allegories of War (struggle between a Hessian and a Settler) and Peace."

"Bronze Door.-- Rotunda Portico, Capitol, Washington. -- Designed by Rogers. Subjects: Columbus before the Council of Salamanca; His Departure from the Convent of La Rabida; Audience before Ferdinand and Isabella; Sailing from Palos on the First Voyage; Landing at San Salvador; First Encounter with the Indians; Triumphal Entry into Barcelona; Columbus in Chains; His Death."

The postcards are in FAIR condition, heavy wear at the edges, blunted corner tips, foxing and a few creases. Paper stuck to the front of one card.
