(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is an original antique postcard from the 1900s. It shows a view of the Soldiers' Monument at Arlington Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.

"Soldiers Monument, Arlington Cemetery.- This beautiful monument was erected in 1866, in honor of over 2,000 Union and Confederate soldiers who fell in the battle of Bull Run, where the Union forces were disastrously defeated by the Confederates.", reads the description printed on the back.

"Beneath this stone repose the bones of two thousand, one hundred and eleven unknown soldiers gathered after the war from the fields of Bull Run, and the route to the Rappahannock. Their remains could not be identified, but their names and deaths are recorded in the archives of their country; and it's grateful citizens honor them as of their noble army of martyrs, may they rest in peace! September, A. D. 1866", read the words on the monument.

The postcard is unused and is in VERY GOOD condition, wear at the edges, blunted corner tips, a few minor stains.
