(4 3/4 x 6 1/2 In) This is an original antique cabinet photograph from the 1800s. It shows a portrait of the beautiful Jennie B. Page posing for a fine portrait in her fur trimmed coat and heavily bustled dress. She is identified in writing on the back as "Mrs. Thomas B. Bryan". The portrait was taken by artist photographer "Fassett" of Washington, D.C.

I can't find much about Jennie herself except for that she was the wife of Thomas B. Bryan, a socially prominent Chicago man who was among other things, elected president of Graceland Cemetery Company, a leading member of the Chicago Young Men's Library Association, President of the "Soldier's Home" in Chicago and founder of "Bryan Hall". A beautiful portrait of "Mrs. Thomas B. Bryan" painted by artist George Peter Alexander Healy hangs in the Smithsonian American Art Museum
Luce Foundation Center, 3rd Floor, 4B.

The photograph is in VERY GOOD condition, some wear at the edges, a few minor stains and scratches, slight bowing of board.
