(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is an original vintage Lollesgard Specialty Co., C. T. Art-Colortone linen postcard from the 1950s. It shows a view of an Irrigation Canal serving date gardens, farms and citrus groves in Arizona's "Valley of the Sun". Photo by Phoenix Chamber of Commerce.

"In the distance and in the left foreground is the unreclaimed desert. But this canal with its thousands of branching ditches or "laterals" supplies life-giving water to enterprising ranchers, fast creating the miracle of broad hayfields, lush alfalfa pastures, miles of lettuce, carrot, corn and cotton fields, heavily laden citrus and date groves, and flowers all the year 'round- in an area where rainfall is less than 11 inches annually.", reads the description printed on the back.

"We drove up on the Summit of a mt. + this is the way things looked! Have lost my voice but surely someday I'll get it back. Mary", reads the note written on the back.

The postcard is used and is in VERY GOOD condition, wear at the edges.
