(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is an original antique B. S. Reynolds Co. postcard from 1918. It shows a view of the Library of Congress in Washington, D. C. 

"THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS, Washington, justly celebrated as the culmination or architectural achievement of the day, was completed in 1897 at a cost of $6,000,000. The Library is here seen from the Capitol. The dome and lantern are finished in black copper, with panels gilded with a thick coating of gold leaf; and the cresting of the dome terminates in a gilded finial representing the torch of Science ever burning."

"May 1, 1918. Dear Jane- I leave for home Fri. A. M. have had a fine time: will write a letter when I get home. Fred and ___ send love to you both as ales. Love, Mother.", reads the note written on the back. 

The postcard is used and is in VERY GOOD condition, wear at the edges, blunted corner tips.
