(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is an original vintage C. T. American Art linen postcard from the 1950s. It shows a view of the Old Fort Howard Hospital in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

"OLD FORT HOWARD HOSPITAL BUILDING. Built 1816-17 within a year after the landing on the west bank of Fox River of the United States troops, in August 1816. In this house the distinguished army surgeon, Dr. William Beaumont lived with his family, when stationed at Fort Howard, 1826-1828. The building in the rear is the ward room of the hospital.", reads the description printed on the back. 

"Dear Velma, I am finally getting my mail answered once again. I had to give it up for awhile but am able to continue once again. Ellen Anderson, 306 S. Ashland, Green Bay, Wis.", reads the note written on the back. 

The postcard is used and is in GOOD condition, wear at the edges, blunted corner tips, a few creases and stains, postmark ink transfer on the front.
