Henry Ford Museum - Dearborn, MI -SET of 3- Postcards, c. 1963
(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is a SEY of THREE original vintage Dexter Press, Inc. chrome postcards copyrighted by Clarence P. Hornung in 1963. They each show an automobile on display at the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan. The Ford Quadricycle of 1896, the Ford Model "T" Roadster of 1909 and the Ford Model "T" Torpedo of 1911.
"FORD QUADRICYCLE - 1896 - Henry Ford built his first car at 58 Bagley Avenue, Detroit, in 1896. With its 2-cylinder rear engine, bicycle wheels, and belt transmission, it ran easily at 20 m.p.h. The success of this quadricycle prompted Henry Ford to continue experiments and ultimately to become an automobile manufacturer."
"Ford Model "T" Runabout - 1909 - For dependable, low-cost transportation, the Model T Runabout had no equal; it was a favorite with doctors and salesmen. Removal of the little mother-in-law rear seat converted this "Flivver" into a Commercial Roadster. Engine was 4 cylinder, 20 h.p."
"FORD MODEL "T" Torpedo - 1911 - The longer engine hood and rakish steering column gave this Model T a racey appearance. Its light weight and 20 h.p. engine made it a popular sports car of its day."
The postcards are all unused and are in EXCELLENT condition, light wear at the edges.
