(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is an original vintage Deseret Book Company, C. T. Art-Colortone linen postcard from the 1940s. It shows a view of Mormon Battalion Monument on the State Capitol Grounds in Salt Lake City, Utah.

"MORMON BATTALION MONUMENT erected to commemorate the important contribution made to the early settlement and development of the State of Utah and the western portion of this country by the Mormon Battalion. During the War with Mexico in 1846, the Mormon people contributed an infantry battalion which marched overland from the Mississippi River to Southern California-- a march not surpassed in the annals of infantry marches. This is the achievement commemorated by this imposing monument.", reads the description printed on the back.

The postcard is unused and is in VERY GOOD condition, light wear at the edges, blunted corner tips.
