(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is an original vintage Deseret Book Company, C. T. Art-Colortone linen postcard from the 1940s. It shows a view of the Utah Copper Mine in Bingham Canyon near Salt Lake City, Utah.

"Utah Copper Mine, of the Kennecott Copper Company, is located about 30 miles southwest of Salt Lake City in Bingham Canyon, Utah. The mine is a theater-like quarry covering approximately 855 acres. Ore is mined by 42 electric shovels and dippers of 10 tons capacity. Normal daily tonnage (ore and waste) is 180,000 tons. There are 2,200 employees at the mine and 2,100 at the mills. It uses sixty-two 75-ton electric locomotives and 156 miles of standard gauge railroad track. Height of the mountain above the pit is 1,960 feet. At no place in the world is power shoveling and moving of rock done on such an extensive scale.", reads the description printed on the back.

The postcard is unused and is in VERY GOOD condition, light wear at the edges, blunted corner tips.
