Aurora Canyon - Starved Rock State Park, IL - Postcard, c. 1910
(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is an original antique Western Novelty Company, Inc. postcard No. 47 from the 1910s. It shows a view of Aurora Canyon at Starved Rock State Park in La Salle County, Illinois.
"Utica, Tues.- We have just finished breakfast + now are going to pack up and start to wash- There is no Blue Book Route from here to Wash + we don't expect to find very good roads but it is only about 45 miles so guess we can stand it. Beautiful morning, Nelle.", reads the note written on the back.
The postcard is used and is in VERY GOOD condition, wear at the edges, blunted corner tips, a few minor creases, album marks at corners.
