(3 1/2 x 5 1/2 In) This is an original vintage Burlington Route postcard from the 1940s. It shows a view of the Buffalo Bill Memorial statue in Cody, Wyoming.
"At Cody, Wyoming, where the Great Plains end at the foot of lofty mountains; on the last battleground of the Crow and Blackfoot, in the heart of the crude, heroic Wild West which one day witnessed his colorful exploits- a great bronze Buffalo Bill stands silhouetted against Wyoming's azure sky.
The statue, which marks the Eastern terminus of the famous Cody Road of Yellowstone, was designed by the noted sculptress Mrs. Harry Payne Whitney and was erected by the Buffalo Bill American Association as a memorial to the famous scout, soldier, hunter and courageous rider of the Pony Express.", reads the description printed on the back.
The postcard is used and is in GOOD condition, wear at the edges, blunted corner tips, postmark ink transfer on the front, minor general stains.
