Colors of Life Are Gay - Thanksgiving Postcard, c. 1909


(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is an original antique embossed H.P.S. signed postcard from 1909. It shows a pair of turkeys, fall leaves and berries, a wintry barn and a violin, "With Thanksgiving Greeting". 

And while the music of life is here, 
And the colors of life are gay, 
Let us think of those who have loved us well.
The friends who are far away."
"H.W. Hale - Brooklyn - This season of the year reminds me always of the time I spent with you, a few years back. Hope you well- as are we. I seem glued to the city and my work which keeps me. I had hoped we might meet ere this- and always shall hope! Love to all - As Ever- Doctor.", reads the message written on the back. 
The postcard is used and is in VERY GOOD condition, wear at the edges, blunted corner tips.
