Crow Indian Madonna - Black Hills, SD - Postcard, c. 1940s
(3 1/2 x 5 1/2 In) This is an original vintage Black Hills Post Card Co., C. T. American Art postcard from the 1940s. It shows a portrait of a native Crow woman or "Indian Madonna" in Black Hills, South Dakota.
"The Madonna pictures to which Americans are most accustomed are from foreign lands and from the brushes of the famous old masters. Here, the camera has caught a pose and expression of the Indian mother and child that suggests a type different from that usually portrayed in the average moving picture or book.", reads the description printed on the back.
The postcard is unused and is in VERY GOOD condition, minor wear at the edges.
