Gen. Robert E. Lee on "Traveler" - Postcard, c. 1940s
(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is an original vintage Marken & Bielfeld Inc. postcard from the 1940s. It shows a view of Gen. Robert E. Lee on his horse "Traveler" at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
"Gen. R. E. Lee on Traveler was taken by Miley of Lexington, VA at Washington & Lee College in 1869. Lee was born Jan. 19, 1807 and died Oct. 12, 1870, age 63 years, 8 months, 23 days."
The postcard is unused and is in VERY GOOD condition, wear at the edges, blunted corner tips.
