(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is a SET of TWO original vintage Curteich postcards from the 1950s. They both show the same view (one in color the other B&W) of a covered wagon in Kearney, Nebraska "Golden Gate or Bust".

"This souvenir card from the "Covered Wagon Where the West Begins" at Kearney, Buffalo County, Nebraska, represents that period in American history when the sturdy pioneers of 1849 traveled slowly over the prairies to seek their fortune in the gold hills of California or to make homes in the land of the Indians. As the East had its Mayflower and the Pilgrim Fathers, so the West had its Covered Wagon with its courageous settlers who contributed greatly to the strength and character of our country. The covered wagon is half way across the continent from Boston to San Francisco, being 1733 miles from each city.", reads the description printed on the backs.

The postcards are both unused and are in VERY GOOD condition, light wear the edges, blunted corner tips, small stain on the back of one card.
