(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is an original antique Tichnor Brothers Inc. postcard from the 1910s. It shows a view of the "House of the Seven Gables" in Salem, MA and a portrait of the author who made it famous, Nathaniel Hawthorne.

"Salem, Mass. 8/22/12 - Dear Boy:- Just getting a lunch, have only 2 hours here as want to get back in time to get into P. Revere's home. Expect to get home Sat. night early- Leave By Friday 8 or 10 A.M.- direct to Hartford for only a call, then back to Springfield - Marie.", reads the note written on the back. 

The postcard is used and is in GOOD condition, wear at the edges, blunted corner tips, a few light creases, minor crazing in finish, some stains on back side.
