Mammoth Skeleton - University of Nebraska - Postcard, c. 1960s
(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is an original vintage Herbert Hensel "Ektachrome" postcard from the 1960s. It shows a view of the Mammoth Skeleton displayed at the University of Nebraska Trailside Museum in Fort Robinson, NE.
"UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA TRAILSIDE MUSEUM - FORT ROBINSON, NEBRASKA. Skeleton of Mammuthus (Parelephas) Columbi, one of the several species of mammoths which roamed Nebraska during the Ice Age (Pleistocene). This skeleton is one of two (with tusks interlocked) which were found north of Crawford, Nebraska in 1962.", reads the description printed on the back.
The postcard is unused and is in VERY GOOD condition, light wear at the edges, blunted corner tips.
