(3 1/2 x 5 1/2 In) This is an original vintage G. F. Castleden postcard from the 1920s. It shows a "Pen and Ink Sketch" of the Secret Passage at the Patio Royal in New Orleans, Louisiana. Signed by artist G. F. Castleden, studio address: 623 St. Peter Street.

"1805-- Banque de la Louisiane. First Bank open in the Mississippi Valley. Opening at the rear of the old Bank Vault was a secret passage connecting with a hiding place to be used in emergency. This building was at one time the residence of Paul C. Morphy, the International Chess Champion -- 1837-1884. Now is the most picturesque Restaurant in old French Town.", reads the description printed on the back.

The postcard is unused and is in EXCELLENT condition, light wear at the corner tips.
