(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is an original vintage Max Rigot Selling Agency, American Colortype postcard from the 1930s. It shows a view of the "Spirit of the Great Lakes" fountain outside the Art Institute of Chicago.
"SPIRIT OF THE GREAT LAKES" FOUNTAIN - This beautiful fountain by Loredo Taft world-famous sculptor, adjoins the Art Institute of Chicago to the South in Grant Park. A Benjamin Ferguson Memorial.", reads the description printed on the back.
"Mrs. C. Winkelmann - 9556 So. Loomis St. - Dear Pearl, never hear from you for such a long time. How are you keeping yourself these days? I had this card left so I thought I want to send it to you. Had a fine time on my birthday- got a lot of presents from my Pen Pal such as aprons, Hankys, Glass Towels, Souvenirs + Broochs. My was I surprised! My husband said my Pen Pal friends are better remembering Birthdays then our relatives. Well I certainly got lovely presents. Write me soon. Always like to hear about all mu Pen Pal. Best Regards, Clara.", reads the note written on the back.
The postcard is used and is in VERY GOOD condition, wear at the edges, blunted corner tips, postmark ink transfer on the front.
