The Singing Tower - Lake Wales, FL - Postcard, c. 1940s
(3 1/2 x 5 1/2 In) This is an original vintage Tichnor Quality Views postcard from the 1940s. It shows a view of The Singing Tower in Lake Wales, Florida.
"Edward W. Bok built the Mountain Lake Bird Sanctuary and Singing Tower at Lake Wales, Florida, as a token of his appreciation and gratitude for what America had given him. The tower weighs 5,500 tons, has a square base 51 ft. wide and rises to a height of 205 ft. 2 In. It contains a carillon of 71 bells and is built for the most part from southern materials. It is a concrete exemplification of Mr. Bok's creed. "Make you the world a bit better or more beautiful because you have lived in it.", reads the description printed on the back.
The postcard is unused and is in VERY GOOD condition, wear at the edges.
