Window Rock - Central Navajo Indian Agency, Arizona - Postcard, c. 1940s
(5 1/2 x 3 1/2 In) This is an original vintage C. T. Art-colortone linen postcard from the 1940s. It shows a view of "Window Rock" at the Central Navajo Indian Agency in Arizona.
"Looking thru "Tse Gah ho Tzum" (the hole in the rock) one gazes upon the immense expanse of erosions among which are located the buildings comprising "Indian Capital" also called "Nee Alneeng", the Navajo word meaning center. The huge Administration Building is shown in the foreground, the Council Hogan on the right, while a portion of the employees quarters are seen in the distance. The construction, equipment, etc. is said to represent around $2,000,000.", reads the description printed on the back.
The postcard is unused and is in EXCELLENT condition, light wear at the edges.
