Washington's Suveying Office - Boyhood Home - Fredericksburg, VA - Postcard, c. 1940s

(3 1/2 x 5 1/2 In) This is an original vintage R. A. Kishpaugh, C. T. American Art linen postcard from the 1940s. It shows a view of George Washington's boyhood home and surveying office on the Washington Farm in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

"THE WASHINGTON FARM - It was here that Augustine Washington, the father of George Washington, died on April 12th, `743 aged 49 years. It is situated opposite Fredericksburg and was known than as the "Ferry Farm." The illustration shows the only building remaining which is said to have been used by Washington, who was then 11 years old, as a workshop while acquiring practice surveying.", reads the description printed on the back. 

The postcard is unused and is in VERY GOOD condition, wear at the edges, blunted corner tips, a few minor stains.
